Surrogacy in Mexico

Since 2021, Mexico has provided foreigners, including singles and same-sex couples, with legal access to surrogacy services. This opportunity follows a ruling by the country’s Supreme Court, which not only recognized the procedure as a legitimate medical practice but also prohibited any discrimination based on nationality or sexual orientation.

An important condition is that Mexico only permits gestational surrogacy, in which the surrogate mother is not the child’s biological parent.
Why choose Mexico?
  1. Relatively low cost. Compared to the US and Canada, programs in Mexico are significantly less expensive.
  2. Geographical and temporal proximity. For couples from the US and Canada: a short flight, the same time zone, and easy communication.
  3. Programs available for different family types. Programs are available for heterosexual couples, singles, and same-sex couples (in certain states).
